Why are religious people so scared?

Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly etc. are protected in this country. So you post headlines without telling the whole story. And you do that either because you're ignorant and havent looked into them OR you dont care about the truth because you want your side to look good. Eitherone is unacceptable to someone who claims to follow Christ.

I got fired from a christian school where I was a well respected and loved teacher. And there was nothing I could do about it because they are religious.

So don't you hide behind some computer screen talking about your rights being takin away and saying you're for freedoms and somehow prop 8 is going to keep those.

Thats a lie.

And you're more concerned with winning some moral debate than you are with the souls of people who your words turn away from Christ.

Tell me how thats anything like what Jesus would want.

I invite you to read further on the blog and try to understand why we are arguing that religious rights are being taken away. It has happened ALREADY. Same-gender marriage has ALREADY caused conflicts between church and state.

Christ was forgiving, but He didn't change the law He had given to fit the preferences of individuals. He said "Thy sins be forgiven thee. Go, and sin no more." He didn't say "I'm sorry for saying that was wrong. Go, and do whatever you feel like."

Same-gender marriage is legislation designed to force the conscience of citizens. That's wrong.

Whatever you're angry about, you have to realize that. Prop 8 is about freedom of speech and independence of moral conscience. It's not about you getting fired from your job.

Thank you for supporting a lot of yes on 8 blogs. I see that you felt it necessary to voice your opinion on several sites. I, as a blog author (not of this blog, but another one), like to see conversation about the subjects at hand.

Have a nice day!
